¡Bienvenidos a Clase!

Mis queridos estudiantes y padres, ¡Bienvenidos a clase! I look forward to teaching Spanish again this semester at Lee Christian School. In case you have forgotten, or are new to the school, let me tell you a bit about myself.  I’m a native of Sanford. I committed my life to Christ at the age of 14. My love for God and His Word grew into a desire to serve the Lord in some full-time capacity. While at college at UNCG God led me to work with Wycliffe Bible Translators. I was a missionary with them 19 years, serving as a Bible translator in Mexico. When I  returned to Sanford in 2001, I taught fifth grade at Lee Christian School for two years. I am currently the pastor of two small traditional Presbyterian churches—one in Moore County and one in Sanford. My chief desire is to honor God in everything I say and do. I hope to be used by God in each student’s life toward that end. My experience as a translator/linguist has taught me that the best tools for learning a foreign language

Things we have learned so far

We have gotten to know each other some during the first two weeks of this semester. Here’s a reminder about some of the things we have learned about how class works:   1.      Per school policy, no one will be allowed to leave the classroom to go to the bathroom. There are 10 minutes provided between classes in order for such needs to be met. 2.      Per school policy, no headwear is to be worn in the classroom. 3.      Per school policy, all phones must be placed in the pouches on the door during class. 4.      Any form of communication, (including, but not limited to, talking, writing, gesturing, etc.) during a quiz, test or exam will result in a zero, even if you have finished the quiz, test or exam. 5.      Talking while Sra. Hughes is trying to teach is not acceptable. 6.      Spanish is going to take some effort at least 5 days a week. 7.      Incomplete assignments will result in a zero unless the student has communicated with Sra. Hughes prior to 9:00 p.m. the
We will survive! Hey. I just wanted to clarify some things. The due date of assignments, as always, is found on the  assignment sheet . Be sure to go by that. Check it to be sure. Go by that. Check it. Often. To be sure. To clarify, I have also tried to put the same due date out on the individual document on Google docs. The due date of the vocabulary document is actually when the Quizlet exercises are due.  You do not have to submit that document.  (No big deal it you have.) Please look at all comments and highlighting.  If your grade is less than 100 you have until  midnight the next day  to resubmit with errors corrected. I  may  change the grade. If you are having problems understanding the material, please contact me.  Send a text message and we can set up and individual time to get on Zoom. I want you to succeed!
All student have a 2-page worksheet that was due Thursday or Friday, but some have not turned it in. I will extend grace until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Some have also not done their Quizlet assignments. Time is running out. Better hurry!  ¡ Arriba!  ¡ Arriba!  ¡ Andale!  ¡ Andale!
